You wouldn't build a house without putting the structures in first. Yet many business owners sit down to write their book without laying the groundwork.
The result is overwhelm – notes everywhere, no coherent structure, months of wasted effort – and a frustrating sense that something isn't quite right.
Some push through anyway. And many come to me after writing thousands of words, only to realise they were building on shaky foundations.
The Book Idea Intensive exists to make sure that doesn't happen.
Whether you're yet to write your first word or you've already started and are stuck somewhere in the messy middle, this is for you.
By the end of this training, you'll walk away with clarity on your book, confidence in your direction – and that brilliant "I've got this" feeling that makes you genuinely excited to start writing.
Here's what you'll leave with:
Clarity on what your book is here to do – and exactly where it fits into your business and its growth
Knowing exactly who your book is for and what problem it solves – so it speaks directly to the right reader rather than trying to please everyone
A defined scope – so it stays focused, powerful and doesn't try to do too much
The confidence to own what makes your perspective distinctive – and boldly stand behind it
A clear picture of what else is out there in your space – and what makes your book different
A compelling angle – so you can articulate your book in a way that makes people lean in and want to read it
The certainty that this is the right book for you to write right now – and the excitement to write it
You'll also receive a short workbook to capture your thinking, work through your ideas, and leave the training with solid next steps.
What happens when you get clear on your book idea?
Since 2014, I've supported hundreds of business owners through the process of writing a book that builds their business. Here's what some of them experienced when they got clear on their book idea:
“Karen brought clarity when I had too many ideas competing in my head and helped me make sense of what I was actually trying to say.” – Claudia D. Thompson
“I had a book, but not THE book. Karen helped me find the through line and rebuild it so the final version actually matched the vision.” – Philipp Baaske
“I was overwhelmed with ideas but couldn’t shape them into something coherent. Karen helped me turn raw concepts into a clear, compelling structure.” –Hayley Paterson
“After 18,000 words, I realised my book wasn’t working. Karen helped me step back, rethink the structure, and move forward with a much stronger direction.” – Sarah Hamilton-Gill
Who is this for?
This session is for you if you're an expert, consultant, coach, therapist or leader. You know you have a book in you, but you want to make sure you're writing the right book.
This means:
You care about leveraging your expertise – not just having a book that sits on Amazon.
You want your book to open doors – not simply exist as an expensive business card.
You're ready to be bolder about what you stand for – and you want your book to reflect that.
You want to be known as the go-to expert in your field – and you know a well-positioned book can make that happen.
You want to be confident the idea is strong before you invest months writing it.
How it works

3. The Book Idea Clinic – Tuesday 21 April, 12-1pm BST (UK time)
A follow-up session where you can bring your questions, sense-check your thinking, and make sure your next steps align with your vision.
